<p>PURPOSE:To display data rapidly with efficiency so as to grasp the process state easily by displaying the constitution of the process in a graphic form by the assignment of a man-machine interface, and setting an empty display area in the vicinity. CONSTITUTION:A user operates a background image plane editing part 31 using a man-machine interface 2 to replace a process P with graphics. At this time, an empty display area is set in the vicinity so as to display numerical data collectively. These are transmitted to a background image plane setting part 4 to obtain CRT display information. The desired time is set in a time setting part 32, and a time advance part 33 or a time return part 34 is operated to advance or return the time by unit time. The time signal TK of the time setting part 32 is then transmitted to a pointer control part 5, and the data DK1...DKm of a trend data base TD is transmitted to a display data setting part 6.
