PURPOSE:To provide an image recording method designed to reduce as best as possible the influences of mixing of colors when monochromatic images are overlapped in printing. CONSTITUTION:The density of a color to be recorded to an image already recorded on a thermosensitive recording material 12 is predicted from the actually-measured value of a densitometer 28. When the predicted image density is not larger than the density of the generating color measured or expected from the image data to be recorded, recording is not carried out. If the density of the generating color expected from the image data to be recorded is larger than the predicted density, the image data to be recorded is corrected to lessen the recording energy so as to make the density of the image to be recorded equal to the density of the generating color expected from the image data to be recorded. Accordingly, the increase of the image density for every recording time is prevented and mixing of colors can be restricted to be minimum. |
