PURPOSE:To prevent useless energy consumption by driving a mowing blade exclusively in a region where a photoelectric sensor detects the presence of lawn having a height to be mowed. CONSTITUTION:The presence of lawn is detected by a photoelectric sensor 30 during the traveling of the electric lawn mower. The mowing blades 14, 15 are driven exclusively in a region containing grown lawn to be mowed. The mowing blades are driven during the time necessary to move the photoelectric sensor from the lawn-detecting position to the rear end of the mowing blade. |
