PURPOSE:To improve the quality of a chemically crosslinked polyethylene foam and to improve the workability of the feed materialy by incorporating a modified silicone oil into the feed material. CONSTITUTION:A modified silicone oil is incorporated in an amount of 0.1-3.0 pts.wt. into a polyethylene resin which is linear low-density polyethylene alone, high-density polyethylene alone, or a mixture thereof with low-density polyethylene and from which a chemically crosslinked polyethylene foam is to be produced. The resulting resin is kneaded along with a foaming agent and a crosslinking agent and extruded into a sheet, which is then heated for crosslinking and foaming to produce a foam. |
