PURPOSE:To form a high-distinctness and high-quality image on a final recording body by using wet developing. CONSTITUTION:After a photosensitive drum 1 rotating in a clockwise direction shown by an arrow is electrostatically charged and an electrostatic latent image having a specified color is written on the drum 1 by a laser beam scanner 5, the latent image is electrostatically transferred on a dielectric belt 2 rotating in a counterclockwise direction shown by an arrow by an electrostatic transfer roller 4. The latent image on the belt 2 is developed by a developing device corresponding to the specified color out of a wet developing device group 6. After a toner image is heated by a preheating roller 7 so as to evaporate solvent included in the toner image, it is fed to a thermal transfer roller 8 and allowed to pressurize a transfer paper 30 which is fed from a paper supply stack 11 and held on a transfer drum 10, then it is melted by the heat given from the roller 8, and transferred and fixed at the same time. Thus, a color image is printed by repetitively superposing the toner images of the respective colors on the transfer paper every time the transfer drum 10 rotates once. |
