PURPOSE: To provide an algorithm which receives the output of an unknown system, whose efficiency for restoring input to the system is satisfactory, which is statistically stabile and which converges to a desirable solution. CONSTITUTION: At the time of repetitively adjusting an equalizer so that the unknown system 83 is operated by combining it with the equalizer 80, the (t,n) tap of the system is adjusted as in expression I on the prescribed combination of (t) and (n). In expression I, s't ,n is the (t,n) tap before the repetition, a member shown in expression II on the left side is the (t,n) tap after the repetition, I is a previously selected integer which is larger than '1' or equal to '1',αi , i=1, 2,..., I, is a previously selected scalar which can be changed at every repetition and pi , qi , i=1, 2...I, are non-negative integers previously selected so as to satisfy pi +qi >=2. |
