Rolling-up pulley for chains which can be mounted rotatably with respect to the latter in a support frame by means of a holding device and which has a central rolling-up shaft, lateral stop discs as well as, on each side, a central socket (hold) for the said holding device. This pulley is characterised in that the holding device comprises, for each central and lateral socket (8, 9), a stopper (5) which may be secured by plugging-in with the socket (8, 9), by means of which a braking moment (torque) by means of friction may be applied on the said rolling-up pulley 1 when the latter undergoes a rotation with respect to the said stopper (5) placed in its plugged-in position, the said stopper (5) having, in order to prevent it from turning when it is in position, a shaped cross section which projects axially from the stop disc (4) in the direction of the support frame and the outer profile of which is non-symmetrical. <IMAGE>
