<p>A collection vehicle (1) for recyclable elements such as paper, glass and cans whereby a collection bin divided into compartments is automatically lifted by a mechanical arm (4) and up-ended over collection chutes aligned with the compartments. Elements, eg: paper, from one compartment are delivered to a storage zone (10) extending across one level of the vehicle while elements, eg: glass and cans, from the other compartment are delivered to another storage zone (11) extending across the vehicle at a different level. In this way even weight distribution is achieved within the vehicle. A removable cover for the bin, operable from the arm (4) is also described, configured to hold the contents within the bin until aligned with the collection chutes.</p> |
