The cable (10) has an armoured outer sleeve (11) of shorter length than the inserted optical fibre cables (10). A cable termination (13) for the end of the cable (10) is secured to the outer sleeve (11). Pref. the cable termination (13) is secured to the outer sleeve (11) via an intermediate element (14) allowing relative movemetn between the optical fibre cables (10) and the outer sleeve (11). The print of attachment between the cable termination (13) and the outer sleeve (11) is pref. enclosed by an outer shrink-fit sleeve (16).
