摘要 The mechanical triggering system has a compressed coil spring and a sensor which operates a locking device to release the spring when the vehicle experiences excessive acceleration or deceleration. The sensor contains two physical pendulums (7,8), each of whose wts. (3,4,16,17) forms an inertia sensitive wt., and with different deflection distances between the null and triggering positions. One wt. responds to short duration excessive accelerations or decelerations and the other to long-term excessive ones. ADVANTAGE - Detects wide range of types of accident and esp. distinguishes short hard shocks from long, weak ones using purely mechanical parts.
