Regulating heating in motor vehicle - providing proportional control for normal heating and direct control if outside temperatures differ by more than preset level

A vehicle heating control measures the temp. difference between the target temp. and the actual temp. to generate a correction signal for the heating. If the difference is negative, i.e. outside temp. of the vehicle is high, a different mode of control is used, with direct temp. control rather than proportional control. The switching between the two modes of control uses a simple logic addition to the control circuits. It provides an adaptable heating control with optimum confort for the occupants.
