An inhibitory agent against HIV superinfection contains a peptide consisting of an amino acid chain of 66th to 92nd, 68th to 130th or 84th to 102nd amino acids as counted from the N-terminal of human CD4 molecule. The inhibitory agent prevents reinfection with second-round HIV after cells are once infected with HIV. The 84th cystein residue of the peptide having an amino acid chain of 66th to 92nd or 68th to 130th amino acids may be modified with an acetamidomethyl or benzyl group. The inhibitory agent may contain a monoclonal antibody reactable with a peptide of 66th to 92nd or 68th to 130th amino acids or may contain an anti-ideotype antibody produced from an antibody as an antigen reactable with a peptide of 66th to 92nd or 68th to 130th amino acids.
