PURPOSE:To provide an air conditioner for a vehicle which can always keep the interior of the vehicle in a comfortable environment by discharging gas generated from a battery installed in a closed place communicated with the interior of the vehicle such as a luggage boot to the outside of the car. CONSTITUTION:An air conditioner for a vehicle having at least outside air introduction means 3, 7, 8, 9 for introducing the outside air into the interior of the vehicle comprises a gas generation condition detecting means 22 for detecting the gas generating condition of a battery installed in a place with high grade of sealing communicating with the interior of the vehicle, and a control means 18 for controlling the outside air introducing means 3, 7, 8, 9 to introduce the outside air into the interior of the behicle when the gas generating condition of the battery is detected by the gas generating condition detecting means 22, whereby gas generated from the battery is prevented from flowing into the interior of the vehicle. |
