The invention relates to a crystalline zeolite-like gallosilicate and a process for its preparation. This process is a hydrothermal crystallisation from a reaction batch, which in the purely inorganic aqueous/alkaline medium comprises SiO2 and Ga2O3 or their hydrated derivatives or alkali metal silicates or alkali metal gallates or salts thereof, the reaction mixture having the following chemical composition, expressed as molar ratios: SiO2/Ga2O3 >/= 5; OH<->/SiO2 = 0.05 - 1.0; H2O/SiO2 = 10 - 1000. The gallosilicate according to the invention has a very largely homogeneous distribution of the Si and Ga atoms over the whole of the crystal. At the same time, the value of the atomic ratio Si/Ga at the external crystal surface is no greater than the average value of this ratio in the whole of the crystal. The gallosilicate according to the invention is used, inter alia, to prepare catalysts or adsorbents, as well as to prepare a catalyst for the conversion of hydrocarbons. |
