PURPOSE:To provide an image forming apparatus which can carry out its action to prevent deterioration of the rotary body of a fixing apparatus without accelerating the deterioration of a latent image carrier during waiting time until image forming action is started. CONSTITUTION:A photosensitive drum 102, a paper supplying roller 101, and a fixing roller 103 are driven by driving power transmitted from a driving part 104. The driving part 104 sends out three kinds driving power and the first driving power among them is given to the paper supplying roller 102 through a paper supplying clutch 105. The second driving power is given to the photosensitive drum 101 through a photosensitive drum clutch 106. The third driving power is given directly to a fixing roller 103 from the driving part 104. Driving and stopping action of the driving part 104, intermittent action of the paper supplying clutch 105, and intermittent action of the photosensitive drum clutch 106 are controlled by a controlling part 107. |
