The device consists of pneumatic brake force intensifier, pref. underpressure intensifier, and a main brake cylinder arrangement. This has two separate pressure chambers, pref. located next to each other. The intensifier has a movable wall, charged with a pneumatic differential pressure. The intensifier force of this, and an actuating force, are transmitted via an elastic reaction disc to two pistons, limiting the pressure chambers. The pressure chambers (9,10) are formed in two steel tube housings (7,8). The intersection of the effective lines of the reaction forces, resulting from the hydraulic pressure in the chambers, with the symmetrical axis (40) of the brake force intensifier (1), is located within the fastening range of the actuating rod (5) on the brake pedal (3).
