PURPOSE:To enable an oil evaluation device for measuring deterioration of a lubrication oil by using a total acid value to be improved especially. CONSTITUTION:In an oil evaluation device for detecting deterioration of an oil 31 according to a potential difference between electrodes 12 and 13 by dipping a pair of electrodes 12 and 13 into an oil 31, an electrode consisting of a conductive film where at least one of the electrodes is formed on an insulation substrate. Also, both electrodes are hermetically sealed through an insulator such as a glass. Furthermore, both electrodes are hermetically sealed by the insulator and consist of an outer frame 11 which has a collar-shaped portion covering the insulator and at the same time sealing the lubrication oil 31. Therefore, since it is dipped into an oil for measuring opposing large electrode areas, an output potential difference is increased and a detection accuracy is improved. Also, since the shape and size of the substrate can be set arbitrarily, an electrode structure can be created according to use. Furthermore, no rare and expensive substances such as silver and iridium are used, thus enabling resources to be saved and cost to be reduced. |
