A device for enrobing garments in a tubular plastic film includes sealing means for sealing the film and forming a cover 34 over the garment and shearing means 27 for cutting the cover free. The device is operated in two stages (sealing followed by shearing) by a single fluid actuator 18. The device includes a stand 10/11, a frame 16 pivoted to the stand and a knife carrier 22 pivoted to the frame 16 and restrained by spring 25. Actuation of actuator 18 (pneumatic ram) draws frame 16 towards the stand to cause sealing member 33 on the stand and sealing member on frame 16 to engage and seal the tubular film. Continued actuation causes carrier 22 to pivot against the bias of spring 25 to allow knife 27 to enter guide 31 to cut the film.
