<p>PURPOSE: To stack sheets discharged from a high-speed automatic copying machine in the aligned manner. CONSTITUTION: This apparatus includes a sheet inversion wheel 32 having an arcuate sheet holding slot 31 into which a sheet is to be inserted. This inversion wheel is allowed to rotate in an incremental manner from a sheet holding or loading position to a sheet releasing or unloading position. When the inversion wheel 32 is positioned at the loading position, a sheet is driven in a processing direction into the slot. Thereafter, at the unloading position, the sheet is taken out of the slot to be stacked in a stack tray 44. At this time, the front end of the sheet is butted against a member 42 to be aligned. The sheet-holding slot 31 is configured to have a small resistance against movement of the sheet inserted therein. In addition, a large resistance against the sheet movement in the slot traversing direction is provided.</p> |
