A sender (transmitter) produces the signal to be received and an identification signal on the same channel. A receiving system includes a main receiver, an automatic supervision unit and an auxiliary receiver, and these receivers simultaneously receive, on the channel which is specified for them by the automatic supervision unit, the auxiliary receiver being used by the automatic supervision unit to poll various channels, and identify those where the identification signal corresponding to the signal to be received is present. The result of this identification is sent to the automatic supervision unit which uses it, jointly with the data on reception levels supplied by level measuring circuits which are present in the auxiliary receiver, in order, over the course of time, to select a channel in which the reception is optimal.
