PRODUCTION OF LIQUID CRYSTAL ORIENTED FILM

摘要

PURPOSE:To provide the liquid crystal oriented film which can control the pretilt angle of a liquid crystal and is uniform and defectfree without using a diagonal vapor deposition method and rubbing method. CONSTITUTION:This process includes a stage for obtaining thin films by laminating the monomolecular films obtd. by developing an amphiphilic high-polymer material having the repeating unit expressed by formula I, for example the material expersed by formula III, on a water surface onto a substrate formed with electrodes and a stage for partially converting the thin films to the polyimide expressed by formula II in such a manner that the univalent groups of 12 to 30C in the thin films remain at 1.5 to 0.8 pieces ratio per the repeating unit of the high-polymer material expressed by the formula I.
