PURPOSE:To prevent color blurring by using a liquid crystal panel which is provided with upper and lower or right and left symmetrical display areas. CONSTITUTION:This liquid crystal display device is constituted by providing plural gate lines 71 and drain lines 79 on a transparent insulating substrate 1 and also providing switching elements and display electrodes 73 at their intersections in matrix; and the shape of a display electrode 73 exposed by a light shield film 82 provided to the insulating substrate 1 or a light shield film 82 provided to a transparent insulating substrate facing the substrate 1 is not prescribed to the shape of the display electrode 73, but made vertically or horizontally symmetrical about the center of an area where an image is projected. Namely, the display area is made symmetrical about a center line (A-A line) rotated by 90 through a mirror to become coincident even when the frequency of mirror inversion is different. |
