PURPOSE:To eliminate the need to adjust the position of a separating polarization plate each time a liquid crystal display unit is fitted to the projector. CONSTITUTION:Light from a light source 15 is made incident on a mirror Fresnel lens 12 and reflected and the liquid crystal panel 19 having a polarizing plate only on one side is arranged on the mirror Fresnel lens with the polarizing plate on the mirror Fresnel lens side; and the display image of the liquid crystal panel 19 is converged by a projection lens 16, reflected by a mirror 17, and enlarged and projected on a screen, and a separating polarization plate 25 which is paired with the polarizing plate is arranged opposite the projection lens 16. The separating polarization plate 25 is fitted to a frame-shaped body 52, which is fixed to the liquid crystal display unit 18 by a support 51. Once a liquid crystal display unit 18 is arranged on the mirror Fresnel lens 12, the separating polarization plate 25 is also automatically arranged at a specific position. |
