The present invention provides a pushchair having a rigid seat (10) supported on two side frames, each side frame including a front leg (12) provided at one end with a wheel, a rear leg (14) provided at one end with a wheel, a pivot (32) for pivotally connecting the front and the rear legs together, members (24, 26) capable of sliding along the front and rear legs and being connected together, e.g. by the rigid seat (10), so that when the sliding members (24, 26) are allowed to slide down the legs (12, 14), the connection between the sliding members (24, 26) causes the front legs (12) and the rear legs (14) to pivot about the pivot (32) towards each other to collapse the pushchair. The pushchair also includes a handle (18) that can be pivoted forwardly to collapse the pushchair further. The pushchair in its collapsed state can be secured by vehicle seat belts and hence can be used as a child's car seat. |
