PURPOSE:To provide the bi-direction optical transmitting method and device not requiring an expansive multiplexer/demultiplexer. CONSTITUTION:While a base band signal A is applied to a light source 108 in an optical transmitter-receiver 101 as it is and sent as an optical signal usually, a base band signal B is converted into a subcarrier signal at a modulator 114 in an optical transmitter-receiver 102. Then the signal is subject to optical transmission and decoded into the original base band signal B at a demodulator 113 in the optical transmitter-receiver 101. |
