The method involves adding together two mutually opposite phased saw tooth voltages (A,C) with equal peak values. The second of the two (C) has a horizontal period during a set interval of its full period. Pref. the horziontal part of the second voltage falls in the period from a quarter to three quarters of the period, or in the period outside that range. The horizontal part is achieved by suppression of a part of the voltage, or by limiting it. Suppression is achieved by a biassed diode bridge (2). The bias may be with the help of a battery voltage or an parallel RC network across the dc pole of the diode bridge. One of the two sawtooth voltages is supplied to each ac pole of the bridge.
