A fastening element, in particular for bones, has a shaft (2) provided with a thread (1) with various pitches, a front end (3) and a rear end (4). The thread (1) continously extends over the whole area of the shaft (2) and has in the area of the rear end (4) a smaller pitch than in the area of the front end (3). Thanks to the decreasing pitch of the thread (1) in the proximal direction, a locally differenciated, intraosseous pressure is generated in the bone, causing in accordance with the known Wolff law a controlled bone growth along the strain lines, thus an improved stability of the implanted fastening element. |
