<p>A cap (24) for a master cylinder reservoir, having a disc member (26) with perpendicular guides (32) for aligning and securing a cylindrical body (36) having an annular flange (34) with a tapered peripheral surface (38) thereto. A diaphragm (44) having an apex section (50) connected to an annular base (46) and a center section (52) by two conical legs (48, 54). When the cap is fixed to the reservoir, the tapered peripheral surface (38) engages one conical leg (48) and urges it into engagement with a cylindrical neck (14) of the reservoir to form a primary seal; while a plurality of ribs (58, 60, 62) on the annular base are compressed between the disc (26) and a top of the neck (14) to form a secondary seal.</p> |
