The invention relates to a component (1 ) which can be plugged into an EDP installation with an interface (3, 4) designed in such a way that data can be transferred between the EDP installation and the component (1 ) via the read/write device already present in the EDP installation; to increase the application and insertion vesatility of the component (1), it is proposed that the component (1 ) consist of two components which can be plugged together, where one component has the outer shape of a diskette and serves as a frame for the second component(1) which contains all or some of the electronic units.
