The appts. to apply a continuous treatment to a yarn, in a fluid medium, has at least two rollers at a gap from each other, on parallel axes and in floating mountings, with synchronised drive. The yarn is drawn from its supply to pass continuously round the rollers, and between them, in a number of axially displaced coils. It is then taken off by a unit synchronised with the roller drive. The rollers, with the yarn coiled round them, are immersed in a container with the medium. Recessed zones are at the container, only for the yarn passage and for the rollers, at least partially filled with the medium, so that the vol. ratio between the medium and the yarn is minimal. USE/ADVANTAGE - The appts. is for the application of a wet medium to continuous yarn material such as in dyeing, mercerising, impregnation or drying. It applies an even treatment and effect, such as in dyeing, with min. dyestuff.
