PURPOSE:To change a diameter of an injected ink particle to provide a tone in a picture density by a method wherein an exciting frequency of an electrostrictive element is changed in accordance with an input signal. CONSTITUTION:An original picture is converted onto an original picture drum 6 into an electric signal with a photoelectric conversion element 7. Frequency modulation 8 is effected in accordance with an intensity of this electrical signal while this signal is amplified 9 and is inputted into an electric source 10 for a piezoelectric element to inject ink 12 from a head 11. A signal from a delay circuit 14 is amplified 15 and is inputted into an electric source 16 for a charging electrode 17. Then, an electric charge corresponding to a diameter of the ink particle 12 is given to the ink. This ink particle is deflected by a deflection electrode 18 kept at a constant voltage by an electric source 19 and is printed onto a recording body 20. |
