of the Invention Amic acids, cyclic imides and mixtures thereof which contain both diacyl hydrazide functionalities and hindered amine functionalities are prepared by reacting nonhalogenated cyclic anhydrides with hindered amine light stabilizers containing reactive hydrazido functionalities in inert solvents or in inert polymeric compositions in a melt blending step. The compositions protect polymeric compositions against the degradative effects of heat and light.
