A ferromagnetic seal for a shaft, which includes two permanent magnets located in a stuffing chamber, each of them between two polepieces, one external and one internal, with multiedge projections on their cylindrical surfaces, whereas axial slots at the side of multiedge projections on the free ends of the polepieces are filled with a ferromagnetic fluid, characterised in that the internal polepieces (3 and 4) are rings joined with respective tubes: an outside tube (7) seated in the stuffing chamber, and the inside tube (8) seated on the axis of the sealed shaft (9), and the external polepieces (5, 6) are rings, one of those rings (5) is seated in the outside tube (7) and the other ring (6) on the inside tube (8); besides, sockets for sealing rings (10, 11, 12, 13) are made in the inside tube (7), on its outer diameter and in the inside tube (8), on its inner diameter and in the external polepiece (5), at the side of the outside tube (7) and in the internal polepiece (6), at the side of the inside tube (8).<IMAGE>
