<p>To obtain a waterproof transition between the roofing frame of a rooflight and the roof, lead aprons are used. For this, the material is unwound downwards from relatively large rolls, starting from the frame, and is then stretched in order to match it to the shape of the roof tiles. For this purpose, the material is pressed clean into the recess of the tiles by means of a fold, and often cracks, through which water can penetrate, occur in the lead apron. Since the lead apron is exposed directly to the weather, the lead disintegrates over the years, and therefore a greater thickness than is actually necessary has to be chosen at the outset. In addition, a disintegrated lead apron has an unpleasant appearance and is seen as a foreign body on the roof. The new roofing frame for windows, doors or the like is to be designed in such a way that the danger of cracks in the lead apron is reduced and a permanent decorative appearance becomes possible, whilst at the same time preventing lead secretions as a result of weathering. A further object is to prevent harmful lead secretions as a result of weathering and consequently to improve environmental protection in roof coverings, facades and auxiliary materials for sealing transitions in roof, wall and corner connections. The roofing frame of rooflights, doors or the like consists of a ridge, a breastplate, two flashings and a lead apron which is covered with at least one aluminium layer.
