An interlayer for laminated glass is disclosed. The interlayer comprises a sheet or film of thermoplastic resin at least one surface of which has many microscopic projections having a load curve obtained by measuring the surface roughness of the sheet or film with a surface roughness meter wherein the relative load length at a cutting level of 50% in any direction on the sheet or film is characteristically 20-50% of the measured length. In another embodiment an interlayer for laminated glass, the interlayer comprising a sheet or film of thermoplastic resin at least one surface of which has many microscopic projections, having a load curve obtained by measuring the surface roughness of said sheet or film with a surface roughness meter. wherein the mean relative load lengths at a cutting level of 30%, 50% and 75% in any direction on said sheet or film, represented by F(30), F(50) and F(75), are characterised by the following expressions: 1.5%?F(30)?10%, 5%?F(50)?50%, 3.5?F(75)/F(50)?7.5 The present invention provides interlayers for laminated glass with excellent de-airing characteristics and good transparency The present invention also provides interlayers having improved workability during the lamination processes and reduced blocking between interlayers.
