Guide to tangential tone arm of record player - has tone arm support linked to coupler via parallelogram linkage

The tone arm support takes up a vertical swivel bearing of the arm w.r.t. to the record player chassis, with the support linearly movable. The tone arm support (3) is linked to a coupler (6) via a linkage parallelogram (4,5). The coupler is connected to the record player chassis via a second linkage parallelogram (7,8). The two parallelograms are inerconnected at the coupler via an angular guide drive such that the swivel angles of both remain mutually symmetrical in all parallelogram swivel positions w.r.t. the coupler. Pref. the angular drive guide consists of a counterrunning rotary link between one arm (4, 7) of the two parallelograms. ADVANTAGE - Simple mechanical system without need of electronic control for precise tangential guidance.
