The transfer support is for welding or gluing together any two materials in a pair, partic. the uppers and soles of sports shoes. Each material can be glued or welded to other items of the same material. The melting temp. of the material with the higher m.pt. is within the temp. range in which that with the lower m.pt. remains stable. A fibre support has a covering layer which can be glued or welded to one of the component materials on one side, and another on the other side which can be secured similarly, or by chemical or mechanical bonding, to that of the other component. Glass-, Aramide or C fibres can be used, and polyurethane for the covering. ADVANTAGE - Materials which cannot be welded or glued together can be secured to each other.
