PURPOSE:To obtain a satisfactory user interface in input according to the format of an address book and the like by inputting data to an item selected by means of a cursor and deciding it in a state whereon input format is displayed on a display means. CONSTITUTION:The relation of respective items is held in the item corresponding information table and a prescribed processing is executed with data on the certain item as input information. Then, a result is outputted to the other input field. When a device is started at first, the input format is displayed in the display part and the cursor is initially displayed in the input field of a 'postal code' item being a first item. When a user inputs '244' in the postal code'' item, for example, and shifts the cursor to an 'address' item being the next item, a place name corresponding to the postal code is retrieved and the place name is inputted to the 'address' item. Thus, a character can be inputted by using related information only by shifting the cursor to the item to be inputted. |
