<p>PURPOSE:To prevent induction of other network fault by means of unique bypassing by quickly revising the selection of relay line of the entire network on the occurrence of the network fault in a packet exchange network. CONSTITUTION:When a packet exchange B2 detects a fault of e.g. a relay line 12 on the occurrence of a network fault in the packet exchange network, the packet exchange device B2 sends a bypass occurrence notice of a packet addressed to a packet exchange E5 due to a fault of the relay line 12 to other packet exchanges A1, C3, D4, E4. Upon the receipt of the notice on the occurrence of bypass of the packet, each of the packet exchanges A1, C3, D4 revises the selection order of the relay line to the packet exchange R5 immediately based on the predetermined rule. Thus, the relay path of the packet from the packet exchange A1 to the packet exchange E5 is bypassed from the relay line via the packet exchange C3 into the relay line 8 via the packet exchange D4 as shown in the arrow in solid lines.</p> |
