PURPOSE:To perform high-precise decision of a retracting state during a shift by providing a shift starting deciding means to decide the starting of the shift of a gear shifting mechanism and a retracting state deciding means to decide the retracting state of output torque. CONSTITUTION:In a retracting state deciding state, an output from an engine A is inputted to a gear shifting mechanism B2 through a torque converter B1. A plurality of friction elements mounted on the gear shifting mechanism B2 are selectively fastened against each other and the power transmission route of the gear shifting mechanism B2 is switched by a power transmission route switching means B3. The starting of the shift of the gear shifting mechanism B2 is decided by a shift starting deciding means C, and by comparing the speed ratio or the torque ratio of the torque converter B at a point of time when a shift is started with that at a point of time under a following shift, a retracting state is decided by a retracting state deciding means D. This constitution properly prevents the occurrence of a shift shock by displacing a shift timing or reducing a line pressure. |
