The invention relates to a cloth support apparatus for display installations comprising a large-sized cloth tensioned between fastening means arranged at its periphery. The apparatus includes a substantially vertical fixed skeleton (1), a movable frame (2) parallel to the skeleton and integrated with it by displacement means (4) comprising articulated thrust elements (41), one end of which is fixed to the said skeleton and the other to the frame, at least one pressure element (3) fixed to the frame and suitable for being applied against the cloth between the latter and the said frame in a position for tensioning the said cloth, and means for fastening the cloth comprising pivoting gripping means with elastic return, the pivoting of which accompanies the displacement of the cloth when the pressure element (3) is applied against the latter upon displacement of the frame (2). <IMAGE>
