PURPOSE:To manufacture in a short time and at favorable yield a roller which is uniform and improved in quality. CONSTITUTION:An elastic roller 3 provided with a sponge body 2 possessing a closed cell is left within a vacuum device as it is and sucked. When gas within the closed cell is degassed and the outside diameter of the elastic roller 3 becomes thin, the elastic roller 3 is inserted into a sleeve 6 possessing the inside diameter (b) which is smaller than the outside diameter (a1) of the elastic roller 3 before suction and larger than the outside diameter (a2) of the elastic roller 3 after the suction and left as it is. With this construction, when the elastic roller 3 is inserted into the sleeve 6, since the elastic roller 3 is inserted into the sleeve 6 having larger inside diameter (b) than the outside diameter (a2) of the elastic roller 3, insertion can be performed easily without being damaged and when the elastic roller 3 is restored to its original state by being left under the normal pressure as it is, the elastic roller 3 presses the sleeve 6 and the elastic roller 3 and sleeve 6 are stuck firmly to each other. |
