摘要 PURPOSE:To omit structure and a process for flattening and to prevent color mixture with light from an adjacent color filter by providing the color filter and a microlens array on the back light side of a back-surface side substrate. CONSTITUTION:Striped transparent electrodes (e.g. scanning electrode 7) are formed on a display-surface side substrate 1 and the back-surface side substrate 2 has striped transparent electrodes (e.g. signal electrode 8) formed on its liquid crystal layer side. Color filters 4 of R, G, and B are formed on the reverse surface of the back-surface side substrate 2. Then the microlens array 5 is positioned behind the filters 4 and in front of a back light 3, and its lenses correspond to respective display dots. Then the lenses 5 placed in the front create a state wherein principal consist of components which are made incident on the cells almost perpendicularly.
