<p>PURPOSE:To provide a front wheel steering device which can control front wheels, independent from the manipulation of a steering wheel, and which enhances the reliability of the control thereof. CONSTITUTION:A gap is defined between steering shaft 2 and a pinion shaft 9 so that both shafts do not make contact with each other at a relative angle position between the steering shaft 2 and the pinion shaft 9 within a range of angle 1. Further, there are provided a drive motor 6 for dividing the pinion shaft in the above-mentioned range of angle theta 1, a mechanical clutch 8 for transmitting a drive torque to the pinion shaft 9 from the drive motor. When the relative angle position exceeds the range of angle theta1, the mechanical clutch is disengaged with the user of a steering force given by the operator.</p> |
