PURPOSE: To improve the adhesiveness of ink, etc., to a radiation cured coating consisting particularly of multifunctional acrylate and epoxide as basic components by subjecting this coating layer to a specific treatment. CONSTITUTION: The radiation cured coating is treated with a compsn. having at least pH 7, by which the surface free energy of the radiation cured coating is increased to at least about 37mN/m, more preferably at least about 45mN/m. The radiation cured coating consists of the multifunctional acrylate and epoxide as the basic components. The compsn. has pH larger than 10. The compsn. is adjusted to pH >=7 by an alkaline metal or alkaline earth metal hydroxide or quaternary ammonium hydroxide and is applied one time or plural times on the coating by adding a surfactant or alcohol as a spreading agent or the coating is immersed for a short period of time into the compsn., by which the compsn. is applied on the coating. The compsn. is then cured by electron beams or UV rays. |
