Redn. medium, esp. NH3 for reacting NOX in combustion fumes rising in a conduit, is delivered from header lines to multiple apertured distributor tubes arranged in parallel planes. In each plane the tubes are formed as forked sets (esp. pairs) of tubes extending from opposite sides to the conduit centre line. The branched arms of each set are supplied via a common control valve. Tube arms occupying a given plane in the conduit are perpendicular to those in the adjacent plane. Discharge from some tube nozzles is in the fume movement direction, and from others is inclined thereto.
