The wrapping machine, especially for food products distributed in portions and wrapped individually in thermo-shrunk film, consists of a lengthwise horizontal conveyor (5) which receives a continuous layer of the wrapping film (8), drives for the film layer and the products (7) to be wrapped, guides (20) to bring the opposite edges of the film together, and welding and separating elements. The machine incorporates detectors (115, 116) which detect the start and end of the spaces between the articles being wrapped, an electronic control system which receives signals from the sensors and actuates the cutting mechanisms which separate the wrapped and sealed articles from one another. The separator comprises a reciprocating carriage (64) with welding jaws (67, 73), and a cam control system ( 84,87). |
