PURPOSE:To provide the multipoint range finder which accurately measures a distance at all times over a wide range up to a normal distance measurement range including a short distance-an infinite distance corresponding to macrophotography. CONSTITUTION:When the distance is measured, it is judged whether or not an object distance outputted by a light receiving element 15 is longer than distance data set previously in a storage means 31. When the object distance is longer, an error due to the positional shift between light emitting elements is only corrected, so 1st correction data for positional shift correction which is set in the storage means previously is read out corresponding to the error to correct the error. When the object distance is shorter than the distance data, the function relations between the object distance and light receiving element output at the distance measurement points of the light emitting elements IR1 and IR3 become different, so 2nd correction data set previously in the storage means to correct those functional relations into a specific functional relation at a reference distance measurement point is read out to perform correction arithmetic. The accurate distance measured value is obtained at all times as a result of the correction arithmetic. |
