The method according to the invention consists in producing a pulley, comprising a cylindrical side wall (flank) and a connecting core (web) with a hub coaxial with the side wall, in which method the metal of the peripheral portion of a circular disc is made to undergo plastic flow, forcing back (spinning) the said peripheral portion until the side wall is formed. The method comprises a first operation consisting in transforming the said peripheral portion into a rim (bead) (204) having a cylindrical outer face (206) coaxial with the disc (120) and a second operation consisting in producing the side wall from the rim obtained by the first operation. The invention also relates to a device for the implementation of the method, which can be adapted in order to carry out, in succession, the first and second operations. <IMAGE>
