PURPOSE:To shorten the wait time to start by increasing the inspection speed of the operation of a RAM which is executed at the time of initialization for power-on of an electronic apparatus for business. CONSTITUTION:The overall area of a RAM 5 to be inspected is preliminarily divided into plural, for example, 16 areas having the same capacity. First, a RAM access means 2 writes prescribed test data in a start area Aa in accordance with the control of a RAM diagnosing means 1. Next, a DMA(direct memory access) means 3 repeatedly directly transfers contents of preceding areas to following areas from the start area Aa to a last area Dd through intermediate areas Ab to Dc. Finally, a deciding means 4 compares contents, which the RAM access means 2 reads out of the last area Dd, with first test data to decide match/unmatch. |
